The Equipment I Use

I currently use Windows XP running on an Athlon XP 2000 machine with 1GB of RAM that I built two years ago. Surprisingly, this computer has aged pretty well considering all the new stuff that’s out there today. I want to upgrade it at some point soon since the motherboard in this machine can take a higher-clocked CPU than the one that’s in it now and with prices as low as they are.

I also have a GeForce 4Ti 4400 in this machine, which is another component I would like to upgrade. I’ve been eyeing those Quadro workstation cards for a long time, but they cost a lot of money, something that’s a little tight at the moment.

To compliment my computer, I have a fairly old digital Camera, that’s actually ‘pretty’ good (for the most part) by today’s standards, and I have a Wacom Intuos 2 pen tablet, which I hope to take advantage of with my 2D work.

I’ve worked with a Cyberware 3D Head and Face Scanner and a Dimension 3D Printer within the last couple of years. In fact, the 3D printer has been used to ‘print out’ the model I made for the Nott Memorial as a 9-inch tall white plastic model that took two days to print, which sits on the president of the College’s desk.

More recently, I’ve been dabbling with Linux, in an effort to break my dependence on Microsoft. As well as a slew of open-source programs, like Blender, Gimp, and Mozilla Firefox.
