Web Design

I know all things the internets!

I’ve been working in web design and web development for over two decades. During that time, I worked professionally on websites for several different businesses and organizations. I got my start back in the early days of the Internet when technology and design sensibilities were not as grounded as they are today. I even suffered through the dark times of Internet Explorer and the tortures of extreme browser disparity. A lot has changed in this industry much of it for the better.

I’m well versed, either through schooling or from real-world experience, in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, AJAX, WordPress development, and of course all the ins and outs of HTML 5 and CSS 3. I have some experience with React.js and NPM where I continue to develop my skills.

On my GitHub repo can be found this very WordPress theme as well as my BattleTech Mech designer that I wrote entirely in JavaScript. Also, CodePen contains a number of my code samples and other oddities that I have curated in recent years some of which I do actively use.

Midwest Engineered Systems

I’ve worked with MWES on and off for almost two decades now. I originally designed and managed a website for them many, many years ago. I manage their current website which contains several hundred pages and a lengthy blog post history. I contributed to the site by writing several blog posts, and pages and keeping the SEO up to par. I guided the transition of this site from a different platform more than once and assisted in the redesign and integration of a once Wix-powered site into a WordPress-powered site.

ADDere Additive Manufacturing

I built the ADDere site from scratch in WordPress after manually importing some of the content from the old site hosted on Wix. This design follows much of the same design language as the MWES site but is different enough that visitors can discern the difference between the two sites. I contributed to and edited the vast majority of the text and even created new content including creating several original illustrations and writing new content.

REMLAB Web Mech Designer

REMLAB is a web app I’ve been developing on and off for the last 15 years.  It started as a PHP/Ajax app and just a few years ago I completely rewrote it in JavaScript along with a more modern UX. It currently sits as more of a personal programming demonstration piece versus a practical tool for BattleTech. The source code for REMLAB is up on GitHub.

m20T1 WordPress Theme

The m20T1 WordPress theme I built is another personal project of mine. With a minimal amount of work, it can be retooled to accommodate any kind of website. I intended to build a theme that would do as much as possible internally without the need for an excessive amount of plugins. The source code of m20T1 is up on GitHub.

Other Websites

These are screenshots from websites that I designed and developed over the last two decades that are now retired.
